I have an older brother (he's 18) and of course he means the world to me. Since the day I was born, me and him were always together. He couldn't sleep across the room for me so my mother put our cribs next to each other. We grew out of cribs and we were going to get seperate rooms but once again, we couldn't sleep alone. So we got a bunkbed and we shared a room. From that point on, we shared a room. Mind you, I'm barely ever home and neither is he. We're home after 10pm and i'm never in our room. Neither is he actually.
In the 3rd grade he was held back a year which put us in the same grade the following year when we moved to a different town. When we moved, we had seperate rooms for about a year and then it went back to us sharing a room. We were in the same grade (different last names. complicated story & yes we're both from the same parents.) with the same teachers & the same friends. No one but our friends and family knew we were siblings. So when our teachers saw our parents withh us on Parent Teacher night they were confused until we explained. I'm 17 and he's 18 and we share the biggest room in the house (he's actually behind me eating cereal while on the desktop computer) and we still share the same friends and we actually have classes together. We share an XBox 360, a 32 inch Sony HDTV, a Dell desktop computer (I have a laptop and he goes on it every once in a while). We share a lot of things.
And to my amazement, all of our friends were always okay with us sharing a room and never thought it was weird. As a matter of fact, I have never met anyone who thought that my brother & I sharing a room was weird until last month. Last month i was talking to a friend and i told him i shared a room with my older brother and he asked "How do you share a room with your brother? It's weird isn't it?" And i explained to him how it was and how it turned out to be this way and he still found it odd. This was the first person EVER who thought it was weird.
Now that my brother and I are seniors I started to think how me & him are going to live. We're going to college (hopefully) next fall. My friends and I want to move in together but we're so young so i'm not so sure if that is going to happen. He to wants to move out. We both know we're going to stay home for another couple of years. Now, when we do move out, how are going to deal with out eachother always being there (literally.) When he goes off to his track meets that are in Rhode Island or Virgina or NY i can't really sleep unless my lamp is on(i'm trying to change my ways haha.) Sometimes I stay up until he gets home. And for some reaason, we usually get up around the same time around 11am or 12pm. I dont know, I'm just going to keep living the present and not think about the future.
152 days left cupcakeeee =] haha. Trey<33
